today was pretty sweet as far as edumacation goes. two common peices of gear we use in the studio are preamps and eqs. today we used the same signal and eq'd it using all available eqs. we really got to hear all the minute differences in the gear.

also, my teacher wanted to test all the preamps out to do the same thing. so we needed something to record.

i ended up singing for like half an hour for one of the people i respect the most at berklee. i was scared crapless. he said i had a really impressive voice. i dont think i've felt that proud in a long time. oh. when i was recording, the HEAD of the music technology department walked in, giving a tour. triple the scared craplessness. it was kinda fun though.

the highlight of the day was working with the orignal masters to queen's song "killer queen." meaning we had the 24 tracks of audio to listen to and mix. i had the biggest smile on my face. they were recorded so well. it was amazing to solo freddy mercury's voice and listen to how amazing it was. and soloing the harmonies. good lord. they had around 24 tracks of harmonies bounced down to 5 tracks in the end. and they were perfect. that kind of raw talent doesn't exist any more. go listen to that song.
